For the past 28 years, Jodi has been a USFSA Coach and Learn to Skate Instructor. Jodi is the current Director of the Southwest Figure Skating Club and has been in that role for 16 years. Jodi is proud to celebrate her 21st year with Southwest Figure Skating Club in 2024. Prior to coaching, Jodi was a competitive figure skater from age 5 to age 18 in Virginia, Minnesota. Jodi accomplished various USFSA testing levels in FreeSkate, Moves in the Field, and Figures while she was a competitive skater. Jodi’s primary coaching focus areas include coaching all USFSA levels of FreeSkate and Moves in the Field. Jodi's main focus is to make figure skating a fun, memorable experience for all skaters. It is important for Jodi's skaters to have a goal at all times, no matter how big or small. Jodi is a director and attorney for The Marvin Companies and resides outside of Lake Benton with her husband, Tory, and two boys, Gavin and Lincoln, and a black lab, Sky.
Amanda Hotchkin has been figure skating since she was 5 years old and skated with Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club & Watertown Figure Skating Club. Amanda grew up competing and coaching ISI. She began "junior coaching" when she was 14 and took on the role as full time coach when she was 18. Amanda has been a coach with the SWFSC since 2010. Amanda's primary coaching focus is to make figure skating a fun and positive experience for all skaters. She believes that it is important for skaters to have both short term and long term goals and she loves coaching all levels and ages. She says that her new favorite thing could be choreographing Show Case programs. Amanda is a 1st grade teacher at Holy Redeemer Catholic School and lives in Tyler with her puppy Daisy. In her spare time she enjoys camping, trying new restaurants, and watching Survivor.
Emily fell in love with figure skating at the age of 6, while watching the ‘94 Olympics. Her first steps on the ice shortly followed; skating in the 1st official performance of the Southwest Figure Skating Club, in 1996. She was a member of the SWFSC until she was a sophomore in high school. Emily has completed the Learn the Skate USA program and tested through the Pre Preliminary Moves in the Field & Free Skate. Emily has made a full circle, as now she gets to watch her daughters, Jaeda, Hadli & Creed skate. She has spent the last 11 years volunteering and coaching. Her primary coaching focus would be the Learn to Skate USA levels. She believes in creating a basic level of knowledge, efficiency, and a strong foundation with skaters. She enjoys being there for the "first" moments that are worth celebrating in a young skater's journey. She is married to Cody, and has 4 beautiful girls & two spoiled puppies, Trayn & Finnley. She works in Walnut Grove at Farm Bureau Financial Services. When she isn’t at the arena, she spends time traveling, at the lake, watching documentaries, and hanging out with family and friends.
Growing up in Marshall, Lisi Skrien is an alumna of the SWFSC, having skated since 2007. She has taught both private lessons and Learn to Skate at the SWFSC throughout high school. Lisi has continued to skate throughout college, where she passed her Senior Moves in the Field test in November of 2022, and became a gold medalist. Her primary coaching focuses include USFSA Moves in the Field and FreeSkate levels, as well as beginning edge work and skating drills for younger students. Lisi brings an optimistic atmosphere to her skating as well as her coaching, through actively engaging with students on the ice, showing rather than telling, and emphasizing her desire for students to be encouraged through reaching new achievements. She recognizes the importance of having a balanced fun and hard-work atmosphere for students to succeed. Lisi recently graduated with a degree in Strategic Communication, and currently works in the communications field. When she is not skating, Lisi enjoys being with friends and outdoor activities.

Leah is an alumna of the SWFSC and has been skating since 2016, starting in the LTS program. After discovering her love for figure skating, she joined the club in 2017. Leah has made many accomplishments in her career, recently passing her Gold Moves in Skating Skills. She is currently at Juvenile for free-skate and Intermediate for free-dance. Leah has taught both private lessons and Learn to Skate through high school. Her primary coaching focuses include USFSA Skating Skills, Free Skate elements, and edge work. She brings a goal-orientated environment, having fun while working towards a goal set by the skater. Leah is currently a freshman at Concordia College and plans to major in accounting. When she is not skating, Leah enjoys hanging out with friends, ziplining, and playing cribbage.
Morgan, a native of Watertown, SD, has been coaching for the past 8 years as a USFSA Private Lesson Coach and LTS USA Group Lesson Coach. She has competed in various competitions and performed in multiple ice shows throughout her skating career. Morgan is a USFS Gold Medalist in Adult Skating Skills and continues to skate and test through USFS. She is mentored by and trains under USFS Master-Rated Coach Jason Dilworth. In her role as a private lesson coach, Morgan works with skaters one-on-one, focusing on basic skills, freeskate, and skating skills (moves in the field). She enjoys working with kids of all ages and helping them achieve their goals and advance their skating. Morgan enjoys teaching others what someone once taught her.
Prior to joining the Southwest Figure Skate Club, Morgan was a coach for the Watertown Figure Skate Club, where she assisted with their annual expo show, Basic Skills Competition, and annual ice show, and served as the LTS Assistant Director. She graduated from South Dakota State University and is currently employed as a Sales Agronomist with Syngenta.
