Learn to Skate USA is a program designed to teach basic skating skills to all levels of skating ability. Marshall Community Services and the SWFSC have partnered for two decades to offer Learn to Skate classes in Southwest Minnesota. Coaches, alumni and members of the SWFSC are instructors for the Learn to Skate program. Meet our Learn to Skate instructors:
Miranda started skating at 5 years old and joined the SWFSC at the age of 10. Currently working on levels Intermediate Free Skate and Novice Moves in the Field. She is a Senior at Marshall High School and also participates in FFA and is on the Clay Shooting Team. Miranda is not currently offering private lessons.
Evea began Learn to Skate USA classes in October of 2015 and joined the Southwest Figure Skating Club in 2017. She is currently a freshman at Marshall High School and is working on her Pre Juvenile Free Skate and Pre Juvenile Moves in the Field. Evea is currently offering private lessons.
Kaziah has been skating since she was in Kindergarten and has completed the Learn to Skate USA program. She is currently working on Pre Juvenile Free Skate and Pre Juvenile Moves in the Field. She is not currently offering private lessons.
Leah has been skating since 2016, starting in the LTS program. After discovering her love for figure skating, she joined the club in 2017. Leah has made many accomplishments in her career, recently passing her Novice MIF. She is currently at Juvenile for free-skate and Intermediate for free-dance. Leah has been skating since 2016, starting in the LTS program. After discovering her love for figure skating, she joined the club in 2017. Leah is currently a Junior at Marshall high school. She also participates in several school activities such as marching band, beats, math team, and BPA. Her primary coaching focus is to set goals and work hard to accomplish them. She will give it her all to help any skater! Leah is currently offering private lessons.
Lily began skating at the age of 5 and the rest is history. She is currently working on her Pre Juvenile Free Skate and Moves in the Field. She is a Sophomore at RTR in Tyler. Lily is not currently offering private lessons.
Liz started skating around 5 years old and skated through out high school as a member of SWFSC. She then helped coach while in college and move away after graduation. Now that she is back around the area, she is excited to help out again. Liz is currently not offering private lessons.
